"Robot Babies" Encourage Teenage Pregnancy

Based on this idea a Western Australian program was trialed which was designed to discourage teenage pregnancy. The program involved giving lifelike robot baby dolls to teenage girls. The baby dolls were supposed to replicate all the "negative" aspects of caring for a baby, such as waking up at night crying for a feed.Ironically a study found that the program had the exact opposite effect, students which underwent the program were more likely to fall pregnant as a teen.Perhaps those who put the program together have forgotten the natural human desire to love and nurture. The full story can be read here.
