6 Celebrities who are Prolife on Abortion
2015 will go down as monumental year for pro-life movement after a series of undercover videos exposed the nation’s largest abortion chain, Planned Parenthood, selling aborted babies’ body parts.
A lot was revealed after the Center for Medical Progress released its undercover videos, including where many Americans stand on the abortion issue. And celebrities were no exception. Though many in the celebrity world openly supported Planned Parenthood’s abortion business in the wake of the videos, some bucked the trend and use their stardom to be a voice for life. Here are a few celebrities who boldly defend life this year:Patricia HeatonFormer Everyone Loves Raymond actress Patricia Heaton expressed her outrage against Planned Parenthood in July after the first undercover video showed one of its top doctors discussing crushing and harvesting of aborted babies as she ate lunch.Heaton posted a number of tweets that called out the abortion chain’s gruesome practices. “Abortionist Deborah ‘Hannibal’ Nucatola swills her chianti while talking about selling baby parts #PPSellsBabyParts,” Heaton tweeted, along with a link to a LifeNews article.Kelsey GrammerIn October, the actor posted a picture of himself wearing a pro-life T-shirt that read, “Would it bother us more if they used guns?” Grammer is best known for starring in NBCsitcoms Cheers and Frasier, and has garnered five Prime Time Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes. The pro-abortion Huffington Post criticized Grammer’s pro-life views and said his T-shirt had a “disturbing message.” However, the star isn’t too worried about his critics. OnInstagram, Kelsey and his wife, Kayte Grammer, also posted a pro-life quote from Republican Presidential candidate Ben Carson that read: “We’ve distorted things to the point where people believe that anyone who opposes mothers killing their babies is waging a war on women. How can we be so foolish to believe such a thing? One must be able to recognize the depravity to which we have sunken as a society when valuing a baby’s life is frowned upon.”Stacey DashThe African American actress is best-known for her TV appearances on shows like “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Single Ladies.” She also is pro-life.In October, Dash criticized Planned Parenthood for targeting black women for abortions and said she is tired of hearing that the organization is pro-woman and pro-minorities.At Patheos.com, Dash explained her frustration like this: “If you care so much why don’t you start actually empowering women to love and care for their children no matter the circumstances they find themselves in. If you truly believe in African Americans, then start telling them they do have the power and ability to take care of their children and raise them instead of pressuring them to kill them in the womb. Your bottom line is not worth the blood on your hands!”Ben SteinThe celebrity, known for his monotone line as a teacher in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, is a bold pro-life advocate. In August, Stein voiced his support for efforts to de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business during an interview with Fox News.“The very, very large bulk of the religious population of America thinks that abortion is murder,” Stein said. “[Planned Parenthood takes] the money they get from the U.S. taxpayer and they use it to pay for other things that have more of the money given them by the Hollywood beautiful people and use that. As Charles said, the money is fungible. Especially the U.S. taxpayer who hates abortion, considers it murder, is paying for abortion. That is an outrage.”Kevin SorboSorbo, an American actor best known for the roles of Hercules and playing Captain Dylan Hunt in Andromeda, has been outspokenly pro-life for some time.In July, Sorbo blasted Planned Parenthood on Twitter after the Center for Medical Progress released its first video. He wrote the sale of aborted baby body parts “ought to make you sick” and “watching that horrible woman sell aborted baby parts like she was working in an auto store.” In another post, Sorbo wrote, “How is this not disgusting to the vast majority out there that value human life?!!”Matt BirkThe former NFL football player for the Baltimore Ravens has become a strong advocate for unborn babies ever since he refused to meet pro-abortion President Barack Obama. Birkwill headline this year’s March for Life.In 2013, the offensive lineman refused to visit the pro-abortion president for the annual congratulations ceremony for the Super Bowl winners. Birk said he decided not to go after hearing Obama say in a speech, “God bless Planned Parenthood.”“Planned Parenthood performs about 330,000 abortions a year,” Birk explained. “I am Catholic, I am active in the Pro-Life movement and I just felt like I couldn’t deal with that. I couldn’t endorse that in any way.” Cross-posted from lifenews.com
