Becoming a mother has shown me just how vital our pro-life work is!
Recently my husband Matt and I made the profoundly wondrous discovery that we are expecting our first child. This momentous change in our lives has brought home to me in a deeper way just how essential the work of Voice For Life is.
Seeing our baby dance during the ultrasound was breathtaking, joyous, and almost impossible to put into words. However, it also stirred an urgency within me as I contemplated the 39 other Kiwi children whose ultrasound antics would not invoke joy, and who would instead fall victim to abortion that day.
VFL is dedicated to the babies no one else wanted to see dance.
Last year abortions rose by almost 7%, with our abortion ratio (abortions per 1000 pregnancies) climbing to a high not seen since 2012. Even more disturbing, the official report boasted of the massive funding increase put into more than doubling the “abortion workforce” in 2022.
We don’t have access to millions in taxpayer funds, but with your financial partnership and the humble hard graft of our amazing team, every ounce of loving effort we give is saving lives!
Just like Matt and I have now discovered, the future belongs to those willing to give themselves to the challenging work of creating it.
This is why we are so invested in forming a whole new generation of teenage pro-lifers through Voice For Life Youth. Then there’s the ACTIV8 Pro-Life Training Week, which is still producing amazing new pro-life leaders 13 years after it was founded.
We’re also fostering relationships with pro-life members of our new Parliament, and working to have positive legislative changes introduced.
It’s why our branches around NZ are so dedicated - like our amazing team in Auckland who just hosted a pro-life training day for lawyers and medical professionals attended by nearly 100 people.
We don’t have millions, but every Thursday morning, the volunteers in our national leadership team get up early to meet together online before breakfast to work on our important pro-life initiatives.
Most importantly, we have you on our team! Your amazing financial support means we can keep pushing back against the juggernaut, winning hearts and minds, and saving lives.
